Voices UNBOUND teen Performing arts workshop series

Voices Unbound is a youth development program that combines performing arts and emotional wellness to help young people build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and discover the power of their own voice. This photo captures the conclusion of our Spring 2026 workshop series, celebrating the creativity, growth, and connections built throughout the program.

Awareness: Looking beyond the mask

Charlotte takes a quick photo break with a peace sign while putting the finishing touches on her mask project. This activity invited participants to decorate the outside of their masks to represent how they believe others perceive them, while the inside reflected thoughts, emotions, and experiences that are often hidden from view. Through creative expression and guided discussion, youth explored identity, self-awareness, and the importance of recognizing that everyone has a story beyond what is seen on the surface.

Finding your voice through music

Ryker prepares for his recording session by writing lyrics that reflect his personal experiences and creative perspective. Participants develop original spoken word pieces, songs, or written works before stepping into the recording booth, building confidence in storytelling, self-expression, and performance.

The stories we dont see

Licensed clinical social worker Sasha Giles leads participants through a creative emotional intelligence activity centered on designing personalized album covers. Using a scrapbook-style approach, youth explored the theme "What People Don't See," creating artwork that represented their thoughts, emotions, strengths, and personal experiences beyond what others observe on the surface. The activity encouraged reflection, empathy, and meaningful conversations about emotional wellness.
